The second quarter of 2009 may not have been very tranquil for various Telco operators due to the financial crisis. But despite economic difficulties, many Telco operators have demonstrated significant strides to grapple with current circumstances and explore opportunities to counter financial deficiencies.
We decided to republish interviews from previous months as they provide valuable insights that are relevant to this issue’s main topic. Brian Troelsen, Research Manager of IDC Northern Europe, talks about emerging technologies for network management that can give operators an edge over competitors. On the other hand, Silvio de Carvalho Vince, Director of Tellnet and Abrepest, provides insights on how Telcos can overcome financial challenges and mitigate the effects of the global financial crisis.
This issue also features a telco operator’s survival guide that focuses on effective customer management, development of cheaper alternative services, network expansion, cost efficiency, and business intelligence.
The next article examines different forms of infrastructure sharing and how they can contribute to a company’s growth as a result of dramatic cost saving and optimized investments.
The final article illustrates the key role that monitoring and early troubleshooting play for Telcos’ QoS. It shows the importance of tracking network performance, identifying trends and preventing the occurrence of incidents to increase customer satisfaction.
